Halo 2 REQUIRES GFWL CLIANT IN ORDER TO PLAY EVEN THE SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIN. I do not believe you when you said that you are playing Halo 2 single player mode on PC just fine, your full of ****!!!! and a liar period!!!! So prove me wrong. I am not missing anything!!! I have manually installed GFWL client on Win 7 and it worked """Before the server went down.""" Of course, if the game has other issues with modern OSs (Hello Fallout 3!) then that's on the developer, not Windows, but so far, all my GFWL-enabled games function just fine on Windows 10 v1511. "No matter where you are, everyone is connected" GFWL client manually with the download from PS, for those who find this post in the future, and want to play Halo 2, or any other Games for Windows live (GFWL) enabled games on Windows 8 or higher, note that the GFWL client that comes with the game fails to automatically install. I have owned Halo 2 for PC since it came out and it's never stopped working for me. I even got signed into GFWL and it told me which of my Xbox friends are online.

I didn't test multiplayer, but SP worked just fine.
#HALO ONLINE HOW TO HOST A SERVER INSTALL#
The only thing I remember doing was a manual install of GFWL for GTA4 a while back. Probably since Windows 7 was last installed on my PC. I have Halo 2 installed on my PC, but I haven't played it in years. R_B_P, after reading your post, I decided to finally put this to the test. Otherwise, GFWL-enabled games work just fine. I guess he's missing the manual install of GFWL that's required on Windows 8 and up. I have no idea what garryingle Jr's issue is.
